OBJECTIVES

AIM
An under graduate course in physiotherapy is to impart an in-depth knowledge and skill to a student to become competent in the techniques and develop the proper attitude required for the practice of Physiotherapy and carry out treatment prescribed by the physio norms , guidelines in the manual and curriculum.

OBJECTIVES

  • To prepare compassionate, competent, and ethical entry-level physiotherapists, with the skills and modern techniques necessary for the physical assessment, prevention and management of various conditions based on current evidence of physiotherapy practice.
  • Develops skills and physiotherapy techniques such as therapeutic massage and manual therapy, exercise, electrotherapy, specialized techniques in the field of various specialties relevant to physiotherapy practice in improving and toning up the ailments of the suffering patients.
  • To plan and implement appropriate physiotherapeutic intervention for all clinical conditions related to physiotherapy in acute and chronic phases, critical care, indoor and outdoor institutional care and independent practice.
  • Ability to crucially appraise published literature, interpret data and to broaden his/her knowledge by keeping abreast with modern techniques developments in the respective physiotherapy and thereby enhancing research ability and enriching their skills.
  • Development of proper attitude or compassion and concern for the individual and welfare of the physically handicapped in the institution and community levels of rehabilitation.
  • To develop skills as a self-directed learner, recognize continuous education, select and use appropriate learning resources.
  • Ability to inculcate new ones in appropriate professional relationship in multidisciplinary set up, patient management and co-partnership basis.

On Completion of four years B. Sc., Nursing Programmed, the graduate will be able to:

  1. Apply knowledge from physical, Biological and behavioral and social sciences, in upgrading the health and harmony of the community.
  2. Apply the knowledge of Medicine, Surgery and Nursing care to prevent and cure the illness and to promote the health conditions of the poor especially the suffering patients living below the poverty line.
  3. Carryout the principles of Community Health Nursing in improving the health status of the community.
  4. Apply the knowledge of Child Health Nursing to promote the health of children which provides a base for a healthy Nation.
  5. Demonstrate Understanding of life style and other factors which affect the health of the individual and group.
  6. Provide nursing care based on steps of nursing process in collaboration with individual and group.
  7. Demonstrate critical thinking skills in making decisions, leadership qualities and managerial skills, effective communication skill in the clinical and community settings to provide quality nursing care.
  8. Utilize the latest trends and technology in providing health care.
  9. Conduct need based research studies in various settings and utilize the research findings to improve the quality of care, advancement of self and profession.
  10. Practice within the frame work of code of ethics and professional code of conduct.
