The trust felt that illiteracy caused stagnation, insults to the people from the progressive change taking place all around and left them poor and uninformed and hence it was at the root of all the ills of the society. They struck back at illiteracy with a missionary zeal and made education as their primary thirst area. The generous and leadership qualities of the Founder and his fore sons surged ahead, to the force. The zeal of enthusiasm continued and many institutions were born in succession in various disciplines.
Thiru. Mannai Narayanasamy was the most illustrious Social revolutionaries of the Dravidian movement. His fearless effort to transform the society was unique. He spread the principles of Human dignity, Rationalism, and social justice. He is popularly known as “Thanjai Periyar”, He has been the Minister of Agriculture, Food& cooperation Local Administration etc., in the Government of Tamil Nadu during early seventies.”Education to All”, irrespective of caste, creed, and religion, was his principle. In fond memory of this interesting personality “Mannai Narayanasamy Educational Trust” was registered in his name in 1997, and which manages the “Mannai Narayanasamy group of institutions.”
